Application of Artificial Intelligence in Marine Corrosion Prediction and Detection

One of the biggest problems maritime industry is currently experiencing corrosion, resulting in short and long-term damages. Early prediction proper corrosion monitoring can reduce economic losses. Traditional approaches used detection are time-consuming challenging to execute inaccessible areas. Due these reasons, artificial intelligence-based algorithms have become most popular tools for researchers. This study discusses state-of-the-art intelligence (AI) methods marine-related detection: (1) predictive maintenance (2) computer vision image processing approaches. Furthermore, a brief description AI described. The outcomes this review will bring forward new knowledge about development models which avoid unexpected failures during maintenance.
